What is a soiling fee? Will I be charged it?
The ‘soiling charge’ is what the customer must pay if they are unwell or have an accident and the taxi becomes dirty. This charge covers the cost of having the car cleaned and what money the driver might lose by having to take it off the road for the remainder of the day or night. Riders are responsible for messes made to the interior or exterior of a vehicle (such as vomiting or food spills), and the fees are paid in full to the driver. The driver may charge the passenger up to £60 for soiling if it requires the taxi to be taken out of service for cleaning.
